How Do I?

Step by step instructions for library services

Locating Print Course Reserve Textbooks

Most of your courses at Taft College will require textbooks, and the Library offers access to many of them through our Course Reserves Collection. These are books you can borrow and read within the Library. Below are the steps to help you find your textbooks in our catalog, OneSearch.

Start by going to the Catalog Homepage and clicking on the Course Reserves tab at the top

In the search box, type the textbook title, subject, course name, course code, or instructor's last name.

To narrow your results more, use the filter options. Filter options can be used to select the course instructor, course name, or code.

Once you select a book title, you will see detailed information, including the title, author, publication date, location, availability, course name, and the instructor linked to the book. Repeat these steps to find and borrow any additional text book you need.

Locating Digital Course Reserve Textbooks

To find a digital course reserve, follow the same instructions above. An online textbook record looks the same as a print book record, with one key difference: It includes a "view full text" link. Click the link "view full text" and the book will open in a new browser window.
