Informational Poster Project

Working in pairs, choose a research topic related to the practice of dental hygiene. Create a poster and present your findings to your peers and a panel of judges.

Choosing a Topic

Choose a topic that interests you, expands your current knowledge, and provides you with new insights. 

Conduct Preliminary Research

Conduct preliminary research to make sure there is enough information on your topic. Use Taft College library resources, including books, magazine articles, and scholarly journal articles to learn background information on your topic. If you do not find information in books or magazine articles, modify your topic.

Submit Your Topic

Submit your topic to the Student Topics Google Doc for approval by April 15, 2024.

Annotated Bibliography

An annotated bibliography is a list of cited sources with brief explanations centering around a topic. The purpose of the annotation is to inform the reader of the credibility, relevance, accuracy, and purpose of the sources cited. Your annotated bibliography must have a minimum of 4 sources:

  • Two scholarly, peer-reviewed journal articles. For example systematic reviews, RCT, observational studies, etc.
  • Two credible sources. For example books magazine articles, website, podcasts, webinars, etc.

Use APA 7th ed. style guide tab on this guide for formatting your annotated bibliography.

Present your findings on a research posters that summarizes information or research concisely and attractively to help publicize it and generate discussion.
