Research Paper

Write a historical analysis research paper that is 6 to 10 pages. A historical analysis paper is similar to an argumentative essay. The topic should be something you can analyze and prove an idea--do not summarize your topic. You can choose any topic, idea, or event, that is related to US History after 1877 and before 2001. You must have at least 5 primary sources, including 3 books and two peer-reviewed articles. Scholarly sources include books, articles, primary sources, etc. You can use encyclopedias to get background information, but it will not count as a scholarly source.

Resources

  • Five (5) primary source
  • Three (3) books in print or electronic
  • Two (2) academic, peer-reviewed journal articles from Taft College Library databases.

Format

  • 1" margins
  • Size 12 font
  • Double-spaced,
  • 6-8 pages, typed
  • Use Chicago/Turabian citation style for bibliography
