According to the Central for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.
Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a model for understanding the motivations for human behavior. It maps different motivations onto a pyramid, with each level representing a different human need. Abraham Harold Maslow was an American psychologist who created Maslow's hierarchy of needs, a theory of psychological health predicated on fulfilling innate human needs in priority, culminating in self-actualization.
An example of the pyramid of needs:
Everyone struggles and you are not weak for asking for help or talking to someone. Each level of need can take a tole on your mind and body if not being met for prolonged times. We all know steal beams are quite strong, however we wouldn't expect one beam to hold the weight of several trucks, instead we support the beam with other beams to have a strong foundation. This is the same with your strength. By talking, seeking help, or supporting others we can all become even stronger.
