This guide provides search strategies and recommended resources for research in B. Devine's ENGL C1000 Online course

Research Paper

Write a research paper on a topic of your choice. The paper must be about a topic that can be argued with evidence. The paper cannot be your opinion only--it must present evidence in support of your point of view. The requirements are:

  • A topic that is controversial or has opposing viewpoints
  • A minimum of 1800 words or 6 pages in length
  • 10 sources from the Taft College Library. The sources can be subject encyclopedias, books, journal articles, viewpoints, newspaper articles or videos.
  • A Works Cited page listing all the sources used in the paper.
  • Written using MLA Style formatting
